Historic Fort Wayne

This mid-1800s fort spans over 80 acres! It was used as an induction center for military members throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Many of the old barracks have never been remodeled, so it's really a blast from the past. The Historic Fort Wayne Coalition has done a great job restoring the site! There are guided tours that are around five dollars per person, but admission is free.
Ford Piquette Avenue Plant

Detroit is known around the world for starting the age of automobiles. Come visit where it all began! This is the original Model T factory, and it stands almost unchanged from when it was in use.
